Anita Marie Pointer  was an American singer-songwriter.

Anita is known as a founding member of the vocal group the Pointer Sisters.

Pointer was born in Oakland, California, on January 23, 1948.

Pointer was married several times and had one child.

On December 31, 2022, at the age of 74, Pointer passed away from cancer in her Los Angeles home.

Pointer died surrounded by her family, according to her spokesman Roger Neal.

The Pointer Sisters group was initially two sisters, June and Bonnie, who performed as a duo in the late 1960s.
